Dear UpRiver School Families,

Welcome to the new school year at UpRiver School!  Whether you’re a returning student or joining us for the first time, we’re thrilled to have you as part of our community.

At UpRiver School, we believe that the partnership between home and school is one of the keys to student success.  We warmly welcome your involvement in your child’s education, whether through volunteering, participating in school events, or staying connected with our teachers and staff.  Your support is invaluable, and together, we can create an enriching experience for all our students.  Please join our Facebook pages to stay up to date–UpRiver School, UpRiver PTO, and St. Maries Joint School District No. 41.

This year there are a couple of changes that are important to note.  First, our front office will have a new look.  The front entryway has been reconfigured to provide additional safety for our school.  Second, Ms. Smith and Ms. Mattox, who were co-teaching last year with Ms. Hosford and Mr. Atchison, will have their own classrooms.  We are excited to have them as part of our teaching staff.  Third, our playground has a new look.  Some of our old playground equipment was unsafe for students so it has been removed.  However, with the addition of Head Start to our campus, we do have some new equipment installed that will be available to our younger students.  In the future, even more playground equipment, for our older students, will be purchased and installed through community fundraising efforts.

The first day of school will be September 3rd with an open house scheduled for August 29th from 4-5:30.  Again this year, students should plan to arrive no earlier than 8 a.m. each day as access to the building and supervision will not be available until that time. Regular dismissal will be at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.  Monday will continue to be an early release day with student dismissal at 2:45 p.m.

We’re excited to build on the remarkable achievements of last year where we saw significant growth in academics and improvements in our attendance.  Our dedicated teachers are ready to springboard from these successes into another fantastic year of learning, growth, and discovery.

As always, I welcome your visit to our amazing school.  Together, we can create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential.

Warm Regards,

T.J. Blackwell
