Dear Students and Families,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at UpRiver School! We hope you are refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready for an amazing journey of learning and growth. We are thrilled to have you all back and look forward to a year filled with learning and fun!

At UpRiver School, we strongly believe that education is a collaborative effort that involves students, families, and the school community working together. We encourage and value your active participation in your child's education, as it plays a pivotal role in their success. Throughout this academic year, we will be organizing various events and activities that promote family engagement, providing opportunities for you to be involved in your child's educational journey. From parent-teacher conferences to school fairs and volunteer programs, there will be numerous chances for us to connect and work hand in hand for the benefit of your child.

One of our primary goals this year is to focus on increasing attendance and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to fully benefit from their education. Regular school attendance is key to academic achievement, and we are committed to creating a positive and engaging environment that encourages students to come to school every day. Our dedicated team of educators will continue to provide inspiring and innovative lessons while fostering an atmosphere where students are excited to learn and grow.

While education is a serious pursuit, we strongly believe that learning can be enjoyable and filled with moments of laughter and joy. We are excited about bringing a range of fun activities and events to UpRiver School this year. From field trips to themed spirit weeks and other fun school events, we aim to create a vibrant school culture where students can showcase their talents, explore their interests, and build lasting memories with their peers.

The first day of school will be September 5th. This year there are a couple of changes that are important to note.  First is the very exciting replacement of our multipurpose room floor! Our old flooring was beginning to show significant wear and was causing a potential hazard for students and staff. We are very excited about the replacement and can not wait for students to see it. Second, is that the school day has been lengthened by 10 minutes each day. This change allows for increased teacher collaboration and a school end date earlier in June. As a result of this change, students should plan to arrive no earlier than 8 a.m. each day as access to the building and supervision will not be available until that time. Regular dismissal will be at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Monday will continue to be an early release day with student dismissal at 2:45 p.m. Third, we are very excited to welcome several new staff members to our UpRiver School family.  We have Sandy Smith joining our teaching staff, while Amanda Paisley and Jen Edwards are joining us as support staff. We welcome their enthusiasm and expertise!

As we embark on this new school year, let us remember the power of unity and collaboration. Together, we can create an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential. We encourage you to stay connected with the school community, communicate regularly with teachers, and actively participate in the various opportunities we offer throughout the year. Additionally, we encourage families to stay connected and informed by following our district website for important updates and information.  Also, please join our Facebook pages to stay up to date–UpRiver School, UpRiver PTO, and St. Maries Joint School District No. 41.

Once again, welcome back to UpRiver School! We are excited to have you as part of our school family and look forward to an extraordinary year of learning and fun!

Warm regards,
